XLR Connectors & Accesories

An XLR connector is an electrical connector found on professional audio, video and lighting equipment. Often used for balanced audio connections and lighting control, XLR's have proven to be tough connectors ideal for stage and studio usage. XLR connectors are renowned for maintaining quality over long cable distances and have built-in push-button locking in order to ensure a secure connection, making them industry standard for secure and durable connections.

XLR connectors are manufactured by companies such as Neutrik and Cliff both of which are stocked by MTX Engineering. XLR's are available from MTX in 3,4,5,6 and 7 pin configurations as well as audio, data and other options too. We also stock accessories for them too.

Our Neutrik XLR cable connector range is easy to assemble, simple to use and provides exceptional cable protection, no matter if being used for audio, data or video.

What is an XLR cable?

XLR cables are used for professional audio applications and can be used in live stage, theatre or general entertainment show or recordings to preserve audio signal over long distances. XLR cables have circular connectors and three pins. XLR cables can be trusted to reduce electrical interference even when running nearby to other electrical devices.

XLR cables are often preferred in the stage and theatre world as over much longer distances signal loss or interference is reduced, but it is important to note that the internal cables used, not just connectors should be balanced.
